Ichigo’s battle against his Hollow continues as well as the Vaizards’ battle to suppress Hollow Ichigo. Ichigo has a series of illusions in which he fights Byakuya and Kariya both of which help him understand how to defeat his Hollow. The vaizards have some trouble with Ichigo’s Hollow form as it continually grows stronger and wilder. One of the vaizards reveals that Ichigo only has one hour to complete his inner battle.
